Alberta Animal Services strives to foster a safe environment where people and pets can live together in a community and bylaws are essential by setting minimum standards of acceptable behavior.

  •
  • We encourage voluntary compliance to bylaws through education and enforcement by our Bylaw Officers.
  • We respond to public safety concerns involving an animal and animals jeopardizing the safety of the public.
  • Picking up stray domestic pets that are lost; returning them to their owners or caring for them at our shelter while searching for an owner.
  • Investigation and response to animal related complaints and inquiries including injured animals, barking complaints, dog attack or bite incidents, and defecation complaints.
  • After hour emergencies.
  • Animal licensing and registration.
  • Adoption program for unclaimed animals.
  • All officers and staff have received training in Basic Animal First aid and all vehicles are equipped with basic first aid kits.

We also provide enforcement of other Bylaws such as unsightly or nuisance properties, noise, parking, and recreational park enforcement in some of our other municipalities. To find out if we provide such this service for you municipalities please contact us at (403)347-3288.
